Installing Final Pole in a FenceFencing Installs

  1. Always call your local utility company to locate buried cables, etc.
  2. Doweled Fencing
  3. Mark off where posts go (eg: 8 feet), dig hole on center.
  4. Dig holes yourself or rent an auger
  5. Call for references
  6. Concreting posts not recommended.
  7. Rule of Thumb - When burying/setting wood posts; 10% of the post length, plus 2 feet should go in the ground.
  8. Tamp or pack dirt around the post.
  9. Posts need to buried at the same depth in order for the tops of the posts to be level with each other.
  10. Don't cut off posts to make the tops even. That will expose untreated wood.
